How to get to Atlin: The community of Atlin, BC and the surrounding areas can be accessed by vehicle and by air. However, vehicle access is only available when arriving from the Yukon Territories. There is no road access in British Columbia.

Atlin is located on the Atlin Highway. Here is a list of major highway routes in the region.

By Vehicle:
There is only one highway route leading into the community of Atlin. The community may be in British Columbia but the highway is accessed from the Alaska Highway located near Tagish in the Yukon Territory. There is no road access to Atlin within British Columbia.

Start by traveling on the Alaska Highway in the Yukon Territory. East of Whitehorse take the Highway #8 turn off near Jake's Corner leading to Tagish, Yukon.

On the Tagish Highway, about 1 kilometre down the road, take a turn at the Highway #7 (Atlin Road) exit. It is a 94 kilometre gravel and paved highway with some rough sections but good views of lakes and mountains.

By Air: The community of Atlin is serviced by floatplanes. There are floatplane charter companies servicing the region. The floatplane dock is located on Atlin Lake near a marina with services.

By Sea: Atlin can be accessed by sea via the ferry terminal in Prince Rupert on the west coast of British Columbia. The ferry leaving Prince Rupert, BC explores through the Alaskan Panhandle of islands leading to the community of Skagway, Alaska, USA. From Skagway a vehicle is required to drive north to the Yukon Territory then east on the Tagish Highway to the Alaska Highway. Right before the Alaska Highway is the Atlin Road exit heading south. Take it.
