| Peace
Park is a memorial park destination
surrounded by green space located in the Peace River Country community
of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. The park is one of
many found along the popular community walking path known as Dawson
Trail. A trail that connects the community to the many recreation
destinations in the region.
Peace Park is a place of reflection
for some as it is a memorial park. For others, the flutter of
the three flags and the rumblings of the creek is what draws them
to the sitting benches in the park. For some, the picnic tables
and rainbow colors of the flower gardens draws them to the area
for lunch.
The park centres around three flags and a memorial
monument. The well maintained walking paths leaving from the park
lead to the downtown stores in Dawson Creek or to other parks
like Kin Park, Barbaree Park, Chamberlain Park and Rotary
Park.
Just behind the park is the small meandering Dawson
Creek. Nearby is a playground for children and some baseball fields
and tennis courts for the grown ups. The best access to the park
is by walking the Dawson Trail from downtown. One can drive to
the park located on 107 Avenue.
