Golfing in
North BC: The scenery is so beautiful that it sometimes
is distracting when attempting a putt, drive or chip shot. Golfing
in the north may not help your handicap but it will increase your
appreciation of nature. The heavily forested hillsides, rambling
streams and looming mountain ranges provide some of the nicest
, most remote conditions for a golf game.
Many course are open to the public and should be
contacted prior to your golf game to book a tee off time. Many
of the 9 and 18 hole golf courses in the North BC region have
pro shops that provide lessons, rentals and golf carts for your
enjoyment while out on the course.
The golf courses are often visited by wildlife crossing
the fairway. It is not uncommon to take a drive off the tee only
to have an elk or deer run across the fairway or stop and munch
on some grass right in front of you. Bald Eagles and Red-tailed
Hawks can be seen high above when rivers are nearby. |
