| First Nation Carving Shed, Prince Rupert, BC : The village of Prince Rupert, B.C. enjoys one of the finest displays in British Columbia, Canada of Totem Poles scattered throughout the community. Makes sense, since the area is a popular home to many First Nation Haida artists. Within the community of Prince Rupert there is a central gathering place - a Carving Shed - where First Nation artists meet to share carving skills, work on carving projects and to reflect on the long and storied history of the First Nation Haida people. When visiting the modest Carving Shed visitors will be able to see, first hand, some of the finest, most skilled carvers living in northern British Columbia, Canada at work. First nation carvers create their art work using cedar trees, copper, argillite, silver and gold.
