Perimeter Trail is a scenic community trail linking neighborhoods, streets, rivers and nature parks together in the community of Smithers, British Columbia, Canada. The gravel, earthy (sometimes paved) footpath enables people to go from one end of town to the other while staying away from the busy highway that crosses through the Village of Smithers, BC, Canada.

The Perimeter Trail is 13 Kilometres long and follows the Bulkley River, Chicken Creek and Kathlyn Creek much of the way. The footpath is an excellent way to explore the many community parks and designated green space in the Smithers region. Some of the community parks that connect to the trail include the Riverside and Elks Parks.

In the early 1990's the pathway extended only from Riverside Park to Chicken Creek. The community seeing the popularity of the wilderness footpath have put forth tremendous effort in consistently extending the footpath in stages over time. The walking trail now circles the Village of Smithers enabling all who explore this route an opportunity to view the area on foot or by bike.

Today, the Perimeter Trail covers north to south from Riverside Park to the base of Hudson Bay Mountain located in the south of Smithers, British Columbia. Many hikers, walkers, bikers and joggers use the trail in the summer, while cross country skiers and snowshoers utilize the trail in the winter.

Many of the best scenic highlights are found along the Bulkley River and throughout Riverside Park. There are viewing benches located in various locations along the path. Some of the parks visited include outhouses and picnic tables.
